Train the Virtual Facilitator Program

Virtual facilitation has already been on the rise over the last few years. With the Coronavirus pandemic, virtual facilitation has become a core competency for trainers, educators, facilitators, and coaches.
 
Success in the virtual learning environment requires unique participant engagement skills, creating interactive learning experiences, being sensitive to group behaviors, and demonstrating confidence and competence to multitask in a new technical learning environment.
 
The Virtual Trainer workshop will give trainers an in-depth experience of the knowledge, skills, and tools required of trainers and facilitators in the virtual learning world. After this training, trainers will have developed the skills and confidence to facilitate their virtual learning programs.
 
This virtual training program is based on our decade of crafting learning experiences, mastering the principles and practices of the neuroscience, experiential and adult learning. It is also based on urgently catering to virtual learning requirements of our clients by moving our offline training programs to online virtual environments.
 
Through this workshop, we intend to support trainers and facilitators to become competent in using innovative virtual methods to create interactive, engaging, and impactful virtual learning experiences for their participants. 

Program Learning Objectives

The program will aim at helping the participants explore the important elements of:​
  • Overcoming facilitator resistance with the change to the virtual training environment.
  • Use virtual conference tools to support learning and interaction with participants.
  • Create a Digital Broadcast Station with all the technologies and tools required for virtual facilitation.
  • Learn the presentation skills necessary to inspire and engage participants in Virtual Environments.
  • Create learner engagement and participation through virtual facilitation techniques.
  • Convert existing content and activities for the virtual learning environment
  • Design Training Sessions for Virtual Learning Environment.
  • Use Gamification to make learning interactive and Interesting.
  • Use Convergence and Divergence process tools
  • Explore Variety of Online Collaboration tools.
  • Explore ways of conducting group discussion and group discovery processes.
  • Learn new online learning experiences and convert existing learning experiences to online.
  • Deliver Training Session in a Virtual Learning Environment
  • Use Variety of Feedback and Assessment tools.
  • Apply best facilitation practices for delivering in a virtual environment
  • Learn to apply proven techniques that maximize learner engagement, energy, and motivation via online learning.
  • Manage technical and participant problems that can and will occur from time to time.

Training Outcomes:  ​

  • ​Identify the required steps and skills of a virtual facilitator.
  • Identify critical techniques for engaging participants in a virtual environment.
  • Use video, voice, and myriad of online tools to engage participants effectively.
  • Build Connection, Rapport, and Relationship with participants virtually.
  • Create Agreements and ways of working to ensure engagement and learning.
  • Remain visible and memorable by using a variety of verbal, non-verbal, and online communication tools.
  • Identify participant behaviors, body language, facial expression, and eye contact.
  • Develop facilitation skills for processing and learning transfer in virtual environments.
  • Craft questions to which participants can effectively respond.
  • Manage disruptive virtual participant behaviors effectively.
  • Discuss various ways to manage internet / video / audio issues.
  • Solve a variety of technical issues that may occur in the virtual sessions.
  • Create a checklist to manage the planning, production, and follow-up of a virtual learning session.
  • Brief participants, tech support, and facilitators about their roles in supporting the virtual session.
  • Develop the skills and confidence to facilitate synchronous virtual learning sessions successfully.
  • Confidently deliver highly interactive and engaging virtual classroom events.

Training Program Agenda ​

​The program has 4 Sessions of 3 hours each with 16 Modules conducted on 4 different days remotely over zoom.

The program covers the essential facilitation and training skills required to design and deliver engaging virtual learning programs.
 
Session -1  (3 hours) – Platform Familiarity
 
Module 1: Introduction to Virtual Training Environment
Module 2: Managing Resistance, The Change Curve to Virtual Learning
Module 3: Understanding Virtual Tools & Techniques
Module 4: Virtual Skills Practice & Feedback with Zoom | Ms Teams | Google Meet
 
Session -2 (3 hours) – Session Planning and Design Skills
 
Module 5: Designing Sessions for Virtual Environment - Using ADDIE/ Divergence-Process-Convergence Tools.
Module 6: Using and Creating Interactive, Structured and Immersive Virtual Learning Experiences.
Module 7: Using Experiential Learning, learning styles and Adult Learning Principles in Design and Delivery of Virtual Learning Sessions.
Module 8: Designing Hands-on practical Virtual activities for making learning personally relevant

Session -3 (3 hours) - Facilitating Learning experiences.
 
Module 9: Developing Online Presence and Immersive Engagement.
Module 10: Facilitating Techniques for Virtual Learning Environment
Module 11 : Facilitating Online Collaboration Tools - Paid and Free- Miro, Mural, Padlet, AWW, Kahoot, Google Docs etc.
Module 12: Facilitating using Ice breaker Activities, Energizers, Communication Activities, Problem Solving Activities, Leadership Activities, Strategic Thinking Activities, Using Third Party Online games, Using Gamification and Game Based Learning.
 
Session -4  (3 hours) Debrief, Assessment, Feedback, Tech Management.
 
Module 13: Learning Transfer, Processing and Debriefing in a Virtual Environment
Module 14: Feedback and Assessment of Training. Using Kirk Patrick’s Model
Module 15: Technology Mishap Management, Creating Redundant Broadcast Systems. Creating Backup Plan B. Mishap Management Process Checklist.
Module 16: Pre and Post Virtual Training Follow-up and Assignments.   Blended Micro Learning for Post Training Learning Effectiveness. 

Requirements to attend 
​

  • Workshop is for Existing Trainers and Facilitators with minimum 3 Years of Experience.
  • Final Program Dates to be finalized with the facilitator.
  • Virtual Conference  - Zoom Software
  • Laptop with Camera, Speaker and Mic (Headset)
  • 5 mbps internet connection speed per individual.
